Dear Parents and Carers
This Sunday, September 8, we celebrate the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This special day marks the birth of Mary, the mother of Jesus, and invites us to reflect on her life of faith, humility, and unwavering trust in God.
As a school community, we take this opportunity to honour Mary and be inspired by her example of love and service.
Loving God,
Today we celebrate the birth of Mary, the mother of Jesus.
Thank You for her gentle spirit, her strong faith, and her open heart.
Help us to follow her example by saying “yes” to You each day,
And by showing kindness and love to those around us.
May Mary’s life inspire us to walk humbly and faithfully in Your light.
Amen.
We will come together as a school community to celebrate the Feast Day of the Nativity on Monday, September 9th, at 10:30 am in the Mary McKillop Hall. All are welcome to attend and celebrate this special day.
We have had a jam-packed and exciting Term 3 so far, and Week 7 was no exception! It’s been wonderful to see so many fantastic achievements across our school community — a big congratulations to all our students for their hard work and dedication.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our amazing Father’s Day Breakfast. It was heartwarming to see so many happy faces — students, dads, grandads, carers, and special friends coming together to celebrate.
I am so grateful to our dedicated staff for making this event (and so many others) possible. Your hard work behind the scenes doesn’t go unnoticed — thank you!
Let’s keep the positive energy going as we head into the final weeks of Term 3.
Maria

BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS
We hope you have a wonderful day.
? R U OK? Day – A National Day of Caring
Did you know?
R U OK? Day falls on the second Thursday in September each year. In 2025, it will be on Thursday, 11 September. This national day reminds us all to pause, connect, and spark meaningful conversations with those around us — because a caring question at the right time can change a life.
? What We’re Learning at School
Our students are discovering how being kind and checking in with others can make our school a happier, safer place. We’re exploring how to:
- Recognise when someone might need help
- Ask “Are you OK?” in a friendly and gentle way
- Listen with care and kindness
- Tell an adult if someone needs extra support
? How Families Can Help at Home
You can help reinforce what we’re doing at school by:
- Talking about feelings – chat about emotions and how you can tell when someone might feel sad, worried or left out.
- Practising kindness – encourage your child to include others in games or conversations, especially those who may seem left out.
- Modelling check-ins – show your child how you ask friends or family if they’re OK, and genuinely listen to their response.
- Reminding them of support people – reassure your child that if they or a friend aren’t OK, they can always speak to you, a teacher, or another trusted adult.
? How This Links with The Resilience Project
The Resilience Project, which helps students build positive mental health through Gratitude, Empathy and Mindfulness (GEM). R U OK? Day gives our students a real-life opportunity to practise these skills — showing empathy by checking in on friends, being mindful when listening, and feeling gratitude for the people who care about them.
Celebrating R U OK? Day alongside The Resilience Project gives students real-life ways to practise these skills and helps create a kinder, more supportive school community.
? Why It Matters
Small acts of kindness and listening build a caring school environment where everyone feels safe and valued. Together, we can teach our children that it’s okay to ask for help — and it’s just as important to offer it — not only on Thursday, 11 September 2025, but every day.
