7 Words of Grace Your Kids Need to Hear You Say
“Hurry up!” “Slow down!” “Get your homework done” “Get your backpack loaded.” “Why didn’t you do this?” “Why in the world did you do that?!”
If I stop to think about the everyday phrases that fly out of my mouth, these are just a few that come to mind. In the hustle and bustle of everyday life, my language frequently drifts toward drill sergeant territory.
Please click on the link below to read a wonderful atricle about how we can develop a better relationship with our children.
Tickets for our Christmas Raffle were sent out a few weeks ago to families. We would like to renind you that the tickets and cash are due back on Thursday, 9th December as the draw will be held on Friday, 10th December.
The prizes are displayed as you enter the office area.
Our Grade 6 students are currently at the Toora Pool for their 'Fun Day'. It's a sunny 32 degrees this afternoon, so it's the prefect weather for the pool. They certainly look like they're having a lot of fun.
Advent
This Sunday we will light the Second Advent Candle. The second candle represents Peace.
What Is the Candle of Peace?
One of the hallmarks of the Christmas story is when the angels appear to the shepherds and proclaim, “Peace on Earth,” in Luke 2:14.
Jesus brought about peace, in the most unexpected ways, when he arrived. The Jews, particularly the zealots, wanted a rebellion. They wanted their Saviour to overturn the oppressive rule of the Romans and bring about peace in a violent way. However, Jesus had something else in mind. Jesus brought with him love. Love of God, love of self and love of one another. There is a beautiful song called “When love was born.”
On Monday, Grades Four, Five and Six will lead the school in the Lighting of the Second Advent Candle.
Confirmation
Confirmation will be celebrated during Mass this coming Sunday. Please keep these children in your prayers.
Blake, Xavier, William, Charlotte, Vanessa and Rylan.
Kind Regards
Sue Benc
