The language of respectful relationships
“Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.”
This reply to playground name-calling has been taught to children by generations of parents. While the sentiments are true, it demonstrates how destructive language can be when it’s used to hurt or humiliate.
Many in our school community continue to face financial impacts as a result of the COVID-1 pandemic.
We are committed to supporting families experiencing financial challenges through
our School Fee Concession programs, and encourage any parent/carer/guardian experiencing difficulties to contact us regarding fee assistance.
Please contact Deborah at disemann@stmyarram.catholic.edu.au to explore confidential financial support arrangements or to obtain further information.

Religion News - Socktober
On Tuesday, the children arrived at school wearing colourful, creative socks. Some were on feet or hands; others were in hair or even around the neck. It was a fantastic sight to see.
Thank you for your kind donation of gold coins as well as your creativity with the socks.
We raised $80, which is fantastic. This money will be forwarded onto the Catholic Mission to assist the Sisters of The Good Shepherd, in Thailand to continue their valuable work.
The Sisters’ have established a Kindergarten in Bangkok, where the children from the urban slums can attend. Here the children receive, education, food, fresh water and are safe.
Thank you again.
Kind Regards
Sue Benc
Also, in focus this week has been the encouragement of a 'Growth mindset' over a 'Fixed minsdet' this means nurturing the belief that your talents and intelligence can be developed and improved over time.
The Senior Class students have been studying about 'Healthy Lifestyles' and have decorated their classroom wall with this beautiful design, detailing their definitions of allergies.
ICY POLE FRIDAY IS BACK
The SRC's 'Icy- Pole Friday' is on tomorrow (29th October) again!
Bring in 50 cents and choose your favourite icy treat.
All the money raised will go to children in need.
This week, St. Mary's students will continue to learn how to play tennis through the Sporting Schools Government Initiative.
This is a Teacher Delivered program which has been designed by Tennis Australia.
Each Friday, students will learn skills, drills, and fun activities based on the game of tennis. They started last Friday and had a lot of fun learning how to play tennis.
