Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we approach Remembrance Day, we pause to reflect on the sacrifices made by countless men and women who gave their lives in the service of their country. It is a time to honour their bravery, courage, and the profound impact their sacrifices have had on shaping the world we live in today.
Remembrance Day is a solemn occasion observed each year to pay tribute to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to defend freedom, justice, and peace. From the fields of Flanders to the hills of Normandy, from the skies above Britain to the deserts of the Middle East, the bravery of our soldiers is etched into the very fabric of history.
We must never forget their courage and commitment. Whether in times of war or conflict, their stories remind us of the price of peace and the cost of liberty. It is with deep respect that we take a moment of silence on Remembrance Day to honour those who have fallen and to acknowledge the sacrifices of their families and loved ones.
While Remembrance Day is a time of sombre reflection, it is also an opportunity to look forward with hope. The world has changed, and we continue to face challenges that test our resilience. However, the legacy of those who gave their lives reminds us that peace is not a passive state but an active pursuit.
As we honour our fallen soldiers, we must also renew our commitment to creating a world where future generations may live in harmony, free from the horrors of war. History teaches us that peace requires more than words; it demands compassion, understanding, and, above all, a collective will to prevent conflict before it arises.
In an ever-changing world, the divisions that seem to grow deeper between nations and peoples make it easy to become disheartened. But on this day, let us remember that the soldiers we honour did not fight for division; they fought for unity, preserving human dignity, and hoping for a better world.
As we stand together in remembrance, let us also stand united in our efforts for peace. Whether through diplomatic initiatives, humanitarian aid, or simple acts of kindness, we each have a role in shaping a more peaceful future.
The challenges of today may differ from those faced by the soldiers of the past, but the need for peace remains as urgent as ever. Let us use this Remembrance Day not only as a time of reflection but also as a call to action—an opportunity to commit ourselves to the values of peace, tolerance, and cooperation.
In the words of the late General Dwight D. Eisenhower, "In preparing for battle, I have always found that plans are useless, but planning is indispensable." The world may continue to change, but the need for peace will always endure. Together, we can build a future where the sacrifices of the past are never in vain.
On Remembrance Day, we remember our fallen soldiers, reflect on the lessons they left behind, and look forward with hope to a future of peace. Let us honour their memory with words and actions that bring us closer to their envisioned world—a world where peace, unity, and understanding prevail.
Lest We Forget.
Our Grade Six students will attend the Yarram Remembrance Day Service on Monday at the Yarram Cenotaph.

Religious News: Thursday 7th of November
Last Friday our school came together with the Parish to celebrate All Saint’s Day. Thank you to all our students for their participation in this Mass.
November
The month of November is traditionally a time in which the Catholic community remembers those who have died. It is related to the fact that the end of November is the end of the Liturgical Year with a new year starting the First Sunday of Advent – the four-week period of preparation before Christmas.
If you visit our church, there is a cross that you can place a sticky note, with the name of someone you wish to pray for.
Remembrance Day is on Monday the 11th of November. This is a time where we remember all those that have lost their lives defending peace for our world.
