Dear Parents and Friends of St Mary’s,
We have many coughs and colds throughout the school. Please ensure that students have appropriate layers of clothing and are warm. Our spaces are always heated, but transitioning onto the playground without jackets and jumpers can increase the risk of those winter colds.
Thank you to those families who have contributed a box of tissues to the classrooms; they are labelled and are genuinely appreciated by all the staff.
We are back into our regular classroom routines after our Eisteddfod experience. Our School Wide expectation for Term 3 is Responsibility, and we have renewed our focus on what this looks, feels, and sounds like at St Mary’s. We continue to support and encourage positive relationships between students, which is imperative to a healthy and thriving school environment.
Maria

MIDDLE CLASSROOM ACTIVITIES
As part of our Fibre and Design Unit, students were introduced to Ojo de Dios- (oh-ho-day-DEE-ohs) ‘The Eye of the God’. Central & South Americans used textiles to represent their culture and day-to-day lifestyle. Traditionally when people made a God’s Eye, they were expressing a prayer that the Eye of God would watch over them and the person they were making their God’s Eye for. Students weaved their own God’s Eye and wrote about the special person in their life that they had made it for.
Religion News: Thursday the 10th of August 2023
Feast Day of Mary Mackillop – Tuesday the 8th of August. Our Liturgy was a lovely celebration of Mary Mackillop. Thank you to the Grades Five and Six for leading us and thank you to all grades for sharing their learning about Mary Mackillop and her love and devotion to God. She was an ordinary person who did extraordinary things.
Kind Regards
Sue Benc

Parentzone Gippsland is pleased to share with you a new program we have commencing this term. It is called “Let’s talk about Parenting” and is designed to strengthen communication between parents and children, for parents to understand their child’s behaviours and what the root causes are and for parents to understand and learn how to stay connected with their child.
This is a 5-week online program, it is part of our parents' building solutions package and is an interactive program where parents are encouraged to share and contribute, these sessions are not recorded for privacy reasons and the best part – they are completely FREE.
For registration, parents need to scan the QR code or enter the MS forms link into their internet browser.
If there are any queries, please don’t hesitate to contact parentzone.gippsland@anglicarevic.org.au.
