Dear Parents and Friends of St Mary’s,
We enjoyed a wonderful week of swimming and water familiarisation at the Yarram pool. The weather has allowed us to walk to and from the pool, and the new building structure has considerably reduced the wind and chill factors.
I would like to thank Heather Flynn for all her organisation and the additional time that goes into making this vital experience enjoyable for the children and staff.
Tonight we celebrate our Graduation dinner and ceremony for our class of 2022.
We wish Lyla, Ava, Indianna, Tate, Salenah, and Olivia all the best as they conclude their primary education.
A BIG thank you to all the staff who have helped organise this special event.
I thank Hope Haughie for her exceptional contribution as our grade 5/6 teacher over the past twelve months.
Hope has decided to leave this position and return to the tutoring role and other personal endeavours for 2023.
On behalf of the St Mary’s school community, I wish Hope the best as she follows her dreams and aspirations. I thank her for instilling in her students that they can be successful and strive for academic excellence with effort and resilience.
We welcome Kiera - Lee Williams to our St Mary’s family for one day a week for 2023. Kiera completed a placement throughout the year and demonstrated exceptional teaching skills.
I am in the process of completing the classroom organisation and staffing for 2023, and I will announce these in the coming days.
Kind Regards,
Maria

Advent:
The Sunday we light the Third Advent Candle. It is pink in colour and symbolises joy. It is called the “Shepherd’s Candle,” and is pink because rose is the liturgical colour for joy. The third Sunday of Advent is Gaudete Sunday and is meant to remind us of the joy that the world experienced at the birth of Jesus, as well as the joy that we have reached the midpoint of Advent.
Advent Liturgy: Joy. Our Third Advent Liturgy will be led by the Grades Five and Six at 9:00 am on Monday the 12th of December. Parents and families are welcome.
End of Year Mass
Thursday the 15th of December at 9:30 am. Please come along to celebrate our end-of-year Mass and Graduation of our Grade Six students.
Kind Regards,
Sue Benc
