MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Parents and Friends of St Mary’s,
Welcome back to Term Four! I hope you all had an opportunity to relax and enjoy the break with your children.
It was terrific to see the smiles and hear the happy holiday adventures, albeit COVID style, with children onsite and through Google Classroom. The staggered start to term has once again tested our resilience and ability to be flexible and creative in our learning landscape, and I thank you all for your positivity.
During my visits to the classrooms, I have had the opportunity to see the students settle into routines and engage in the excellent learning taking place.
As the term begins, it is timely to revisit expectations of learning and behaviour with our staff and students. Staff are making conscious efforts to ‘catch’ students doing the right thing; that is, students who are abiding by our Whole School Approach to Positive
Behaviours Support “Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible and Be a Learner”.
Students have identified and discussed what this means to them and how they are
active participants in their learning and relationships with staff and peers. We are
extremely proud of the aspiration they have shown to be better versions of themselves.
Kind regards,
Maria
