MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Dear Parents,

It has been amazing to see how well the students have settled back into school after the holidays. As we are all aware, we are currently experiencing a world very different from what we are accustomed to. Despite this, the positivity and resilience that the students bring to school each day is to be commended. They continue to engage fully in what is being taught and strive to be successful and achieve their best.

In today’s COVID-19 update that we receive from DOSCEL, it stated that:

As Victoria is experiencing significant community transmission of COVID-19, all parents, guardians, carers and students who are feeling unwell and displaying symptoms of COVID-19 should be encouraged to get tested. It is also recommended that if parents, guardians, carers or students are undergoing testing for COVID-19, that all children in that family, should remain absent from school until a negative test result is received.

Whilst there are currently no active cases of COVID-19 in the Wellington Shire, it is important that we remain vigilant and continue to do all we can to reduce the risk of those in our school and the wider community, contracting the virus.

Parent/Teacher interviews were planned to be held early this term to provide further information to parents and support what was written in the Semester One reports. Unfortunately, due to the current situation, we are unable to conduct these interviews. Despite no face-to-face interviews being able to occur, the staff are more than willing to talk with you over the phone about what is happening at school and your child’s progress. Please know, that if the teachers were concerned about your child or their academic progress, they would have already contacted you.

On Monday you would have received an envelope from the school regarding completing a school survey. Thank you to those families that have already completed the survey, it is greatly appreciated. For those families that have not yet completed the survey, can I please ask that you do. Your responses in the survey provide valuable information to the school and allow us to plan and set goals for next year. The survey will also be completed by each of the Grade 3 to 6 children, as well as all staff.

Thank you all for your support of our Crazy Hair and Crazy Clothes day today. It was evident how excited all of the children were to dress up, see the staff dress up and participate in some fun activities. Everyone looked fantastic and it was evident to see the effort that was put in to prepare for the day.

Kind regards,

Joel
