FUN FACTS ABOUT GOD’S CREATION

Why Would a River Horse Yawn?
cartoon_area_diagram_black_and_white_line_art.jpg
The name HIPPOPOTAMUS really means river horse, and hippos DO spend most of their time in a river - or in a pond or a lake or a zoo where you might see one.
During the day, the huge hippo likes to float in the water with only its ears and the top of its head to be seen. But at night, it comes out to graze on grasses and other land plants. And if you ever see one yawn, it's not because the hippo is bored or sleepy but because it is showing its big teeth to warn off anything that is threatening it - the same way a dog sometimes growls and shows its teeth.
Do you ever yawn when you get bored or sleepy? The next time you yawn, use that as a trigger to remind you of how God made so many non-boring, interesting things in the world for you to discover. Try to choose which one is your favourite thing that God made, and say a quick little prayer to tell God thanks and explain to God why it is your favourite.
